Assist busy acquisitions editorial department of Columbia University Press in Lincoln Center area office. Duties include manuscript rejection letters, sending book reviews to authors, soliciting permission for artwork, processing contracts, Internet and library research, and filing. Student should possess office work experience, be detail oriented, and able to work well with people and independently. Those with a particular interest in the areas of Asian history, international and global history, political science, and Middle Eastern studies are strongly encouraged to apply.
The internship is unpaid and is one to two full days per week (10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a one hour lunch break) starting immediately through late May.

Mailroom Clerk
Coordinate all mailroom, copier and supply operations including shipping and receiving of all mail and packages, ordering and distribution of supplies and copier maintenance. Relieve Office Manager in reception / switchboard duties.
Requirements include:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Familiarity with shipping software such as Clipper ship and Pitney Bowes mail machines required
- Experience with mailroom procedures, FEDex, UPS, and certified mail required
- Good computer skills required
- Excellent communication/phone skills required
Incumbent must be able to work in a deadline driven environment with demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.
